Empty state

Pattern

Empty state is a design element used to inform users when there's no content to display. This could be due to various reasons such as a first-time user with no data yet, a search yielding no results, or an error.

Rather than presenting a blank screen, Empty states provide guidance on what to do next, helping to enhance user engagement. Empty state component can offer instructions, feedback, or a call to action to populate the empty area with content. Empty States transform potentially confusing or disappointing moments into opportunities for onboarding, education, and increased user satisfaction.
